Old man dies on Suhaag Raat after 2nd marriage to young woman

A 75-year-old man from India’s Uttar Pradesh state passed away under mysterious circumstances just hours after getting married for the second time, leaving his family and villagers in deep shock.

According to Indian media reports, the incident occurred in Kuchhmuchh village of Jaunpur district, where Sangru Ram married 35-year-old Manbhavati, a widow and mother of three children. 

The two reportedly solemnised their marriage through a court procedure followed by a traditional ceremony at a local temple.

The marriage was expected to bring companionship to the elderly man, whose first wife had passed away a year ago.  However, tragedy struck just hours after the wedding. 

Local reports suggest that the groom suddenly fell ill the next morning and was later found lifeless, with his neck in an unusual position. 

Family members rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

 Zee News reported Sangru Ram’s wife, Manbhavati, as saying: “We got married through the court. At the court, the deceased said that he would take care of her children and that all his money would be given in the name of his wife’s children.” 

She added, “After the wedding, we came home, ate together, and then talked late into the night. The next morning, he woke everyone up and spent some time lying outside the house. After a while, a neighbour aunt noticed and asked why his neck was bent.” 

She said that she called her relatives for help. She said she was in shock and could not understand what had happened.

The elderly man’s nephews, who live in Delhi for work, have halted the funeral, stating that no further action will be taken until they return. 

The family suspects the death may not have been natural, and it remains unclear whether the police will conduct a post-mortem. 

Alongside the authorities, the entire village is trying to piece together the circumstances surrounding the mysterious death.
