Pakistan repays $500 million Eurobond maturity
Pakistan has repaid its $500 million International Bond (Eurobond) that matured on September 30, 2025, meeting its obligations to global investors on schedule, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The bond, issued in 2015 with a 10-year tenor, had attracted international investors at the time of issuance.
According to a press release issued by the finance ministry, timely debt servicing remains business as usual, reflecting the country’s commitment to financial discipline.
The ministry said this comes at a time when external buffers and liquidity have strengthened, sovereign ratings have been upgraded, and investor confidence is improving, with Pakistan’s bonds trading at a premium in recent history.
It also mentioned that the external debt’s share in total public debt has declined from thirty-eight percent to thirty-two percent in the Financial Year 2025, reducing foreign exchange vulnerability.
