Junaid Safdar did only Nikkah in London but his wedding ceremony must be held in Pakistan, this was announced by his father and husband of Maryam Nawaz, Safdar Awan on Wednesday.

In an interview with the 24News HD TV channel, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Safdar Awan said the mother of the groom, Maryam Nawaz was depressed on Nikkah day.

He said that some of the ministers of the sitting government were asking about the expenditures of the Nikkah to them, they should know the expenses were the same as Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Nikkah in Pakpattan.  

On a query, he said his son Junaid was grown up in his maternal grandfather Main Nawaz Sharif and they were happy that he was here in the Nikkah ceremony in a hotel in London.

He said the time of son’s Nikkah in London was very difficult for Maryam Nawaz as she was sad and saying that if she has been asked to sacrifice to respect the vote movement, may God keep her son safe.

To a query about what gift he had given to Junaid's wife? Awan said that as per the teaching of Islam, she was his third daughter and all of the assets belonged to her now.
