Petrol pumps closed due to price hike rumours, citizens suffer

Citizens in different cities of Pakistan faced problems as petrol pump owners stopped selling petrol in anticipation of a price hike in petroleum products.
The pumps were closed in different cities including Lahore, Faisalabad, Dunyapur, and Kabirwala, creating a shortage of fuel and angering the public.
In Lahore, many pumps of Misri Shah were shut down, leaving the citizens stranded and frustrated. Petrol pumps in other areas of Lahore city were also closed.
In Faisalabad, various pump owners closed their outlets on their own accord, adding to the woes of the people who were already struggling with inflation and rising costs of electricity, gas, and food items.
The citizens said that the closure of petrol pumps due to the chances of increasing the petrol price was a big trouble for citizens and a joke with their lives. They demanded relief from the government.
In Kabirwala, the district administration failed to provide any relief to the citizens who faced difficulties due to the closure of pumps in the city and surrounding areas.
In Dunyapur, some pump owners were reportedly charging up to 1000 rupees per litre of petrol, taking advantage of the situation and unfortunately, the local administration did not take any action against them.
The people appealed to the authorities to intervene and ensure the availability of petroleum products at reasonable prices.
