Usman Wazeer wins WBC Silver Welterweight title, dedicates victory to flood victims

Pakistani boxing star Usman Wazeer etched his name in history by capturing the WBC Silver Welterweight Title after a spectacular showdown in Bangkok, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday. 

Facing Indonesia’s Fermandes, a former WBC Asian Champion, Wazeer won in a 10-round clash that ended with a decisive knockout in the final round.

The fight, regarded as the toughest of Wazeer’s career, displayed his remarkable endurance, power, and determination.

For nine rounds, both fighters exchanged heavy blows in a closely contested battle.

But Wazeer, digging deep in the 10th, unleashed a knockout punch that sealed his victory and secured the prestigious belt.

In an emotional statement, the 24-year-old announced he was dedicating and donating his WBC Silver Title to the flood victims. 

“This victory is for my people. My title belongs to those who have lost everything. I fight for them,” Wazeer said, his words resonating far beyond the boxing arena.

The bout was broadcast live in 168 countries. The event made Wazeer the first Pakistani boxer to compete in such a widely televised championship fight.
