ANF seizes ambulance used to smuggle drugs in Sukkur

Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has ​​foiled a major attempt to smuggle drugs from Balochistan through ambulance during intelligence-based operation on Shikarpur Road in Sukkur, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to ANF spokesperson, 49.4 kg of drugs expertly hidden in the secret compartments of the ambulance were recovered.

During the operation, Liaquat Ali, a resident of Shikarpur and a key operative of the inter-provincial drug smuggling gang was arrested.

The recovered drugs include 36 kg of hashish and 13.4 kg of ice (methamphetamine).

According to initial reports, the drugs were being smuggled from Balochistan to Sindh.

A case has been registered against the arrested accused under the Narcotics Control Act.

There were reports from the ANF intelligence network that drug smugglers were trying to smuggle a large consignment of drugs from Balochistan to Sindh under the guise of an ambulance.

However, the ANF, through continuous surveillance and adopting the best strategy, successfully thwarted drug trafficking.

The use of ambulances for criminal activities like drug trafficking also makes the proper use of ambulances in an emergency questionable.

The recent operation is a reflection of the ANF’s unwavering commitment against drug trafficking and highlights its mission to make the country drug-free.
