Nyla Raja unleashes fiery response to Sannia Ashfaq, vows legal action
The increasingly heated dispute surrounding Pakistani cricketer Imad Wasim, his former wife Sannia Ashfaq and his current wife Nyla Raja has taken another dramatic turn. Nyla has responded at length to Sannia’s allegations, sharing what she described as legal documentation, evidence and records while strongly rejecting claims made about her marriage, career and personal life.
Taking to Instagram, Nyla shared a legal notice concerning alleged defamation and addressed claims questioning her credentials as a lawyer.
She said she had successfully completed her law examinations with distinctions before obtaining her license to practice after fulfilling the required procedures and tests.
“It’s very easy for someone to sit back and say, ‘She’s not a lawyer’ or ‘she’s a so-called lawyer,’” Nyla wrote, stressing that earning a professional degree and building a career requires years of dedication.
She also revealed that she holds an MBA in Finance from Bahria University, hitting back at suggestions that her qualifications were obtained through someone else's influence or money.
“Instead of constantly trying to character-assassinate me, it would be better to focus on your own life and achievements,” she added.
In a series of subsequent Instagram Stories, Nyla addressed several allegations and shared a screenshot that she said showed Sannia contacting Imad through an account associated with their children.
Calling the move inappropriate, Nyla urged Sannia not to involve the children in the ongoing dispute.
She wrote that recording audios, making statements and discussing Imad and their relationship publicly had not resolved the matter and asked her to keep the children away from the conflict.
Nyla also rejected claims concerning her marital history, fertility and alleged role in the breakdown of Imad’s previous marriage, describing the accusations as increasingly extreme.
‘I never messaged Imad first,’ says Nyla. Addressing claims about how her relationship with Imad began, Nyla denied that she approached him and asked him to leave his marriage.
She instead alleged that Sannia had contacted Imad first on Instagram and challenged her to present the complete context of their communication.
Nyla said she had deliberately avoided discussing the controversy publicly because she did not want to attack another woman over a man. However, she argued that the repeated allegations had crossed a line because they were now affecting her family.
“Giving podcasts is not difficult for us. We could do a podcast every other day if we wanted to,” she wrote, adding that she had previously chosen not to engage with the controversy.
She further claimed that, unlike random allegations or social-media statements, she would only discuss matters that could be supported by evidence and documentation.
One of the most serious issues raised in the exchange concerns allegations surrounding a previous pregnancy and abortion.
Nyla claimed that she had spoken to the relevant doctor and reviewed medical records and discussions surrounding the decision to discontinue the pregnancy. According to Nyla, the records indicated that Sannia had been involved in and consented to the decision.
She disputed suggestions that Imad had forced Sannia to undergo an abortion, saying that she would have supported such a claim if she believed it to be true.
Nyla further questioned why the alleged incident was not reported to police at the time, while emphasizing that her account was based on what she said were medical records and discussions from that period.
These claims remain Nyla’s allegations, and no independent verification of the medical records referenced in her posts has been provided publicly.
Nyla also accused Sannia of repeatedly bringing private family matters onto social media and claimed she possessed additional documentation that she had chosen not to publish.
She said she had records concerning allegations and disputes involving Sannia and her family but had deliberately refrained from putting them online.
“Not everything needs to become your content,” Nyla wrote, urging Sannia to think carefully before continuing to publicize private matters.
She also rejected claims about Imad abandoning his children, saying that he continues to provide for them, pay for their expenses and maintain a relationship with them.
According to Nyla, separation does not necessarily mean that a parent has abandoned their children, arguing that remaining in an unhappy or dysfunctional relationship may not always be healthier for a family.
Nyla concluded her lengthy response by insisting that revenge was not her objective. She said she had moved forward with her life and wanted to focus on her family, while maintaining that she would continue speaking out against what she described as false and hurtful allegations.
“I have been deliberately ignoring all this drama because I don’t want to sit here discussing or saying negative things about another woman just because of a man,” she wrote.
However, she maintained that she would not remain silent while her family continued to be dragged into the controversy.
Nyla also took a pointed swipe at Sannia over the attention generated by the feud, saying she should build her social-media presence independently rather than repeatedly tagging Nyla or using her pictures for engagement.
The controversy erupted after Sannia Ashfaq recently shared a podcast and a series of Instagram posts containing serious allegations concerning Nyla Raja and Imad Wasim. Sannia has previously spoken publicly about her marriage, separation and the impact of the situation on her children.
