Composer Ryuichi Sakamoto dead at 71

Pioneering Japanese composer and musician Ryuichi Sakamoto has died at age 71 after battling cancer, his management team said in a statement on Sunday.

Sakamoto died on March 28th, and was given a funeral attended only by close family, at his request, the statement said.
