Punjab CM Maryam orders action against transporters overcharging passengers 

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered the concerned officials to go ahead with their crackdown against the transporters overcharging the passengers on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

In her instructions, the chief minister has said that not only should it be ensured that the passengers are charged fixed fares but the transporters involved in overcharging are also fined. “Besides that, the excessive amounts charged from passengers should also be refunded to them,” CM Maryam has ordered. 

She has also directed the officials to check the fitness of vehicles before allowing them to ply on roads. “Transporters should not be allowed to cram too many people into their vehicles. Besides that, traffic rules must also be followed.”
