Karachi Kings opt to bowl first against RawalPindiz in PSL 11 clash

Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to field first against RawalPindiz in the 10th match of the Pakistan Super League 11 at Gaddafi Stadium on Thursday.

The fixture marks the first-ever meeting between the two sides, with RawalPindiz making their debut appearance in the league.

Karachi Kings enter the contest with strong momentum, having remained unbeaten in their opening two matches. They began their campaign with a 14-run victory over Quetta Gladiators and followed it up with a four-wicket win against defending champions Lahore Qalandars.

In contrast, RawalPindiz are looking to bounce back after suffering a narrow defeat in their opening match against Peshawar Zalmi.

Speaking at the toss, Karachi Kings captain David Warner said the decision to bowl first was influenced by pitch conditions and recent trends.

“We’re going to have a bowl first. The wicket looks nice, and we saw the team just before this chase down that total, so hopefully we can come out and take some early wickets,” he said.

Warner expressed confidence in his side’s bowling attack, highlighting the performance of local fast bowlers and spinners in the opening matches. He also stressed the need for a more positive approach with the bat, adding that there would be no changes to the playing XI.

RawalPindiz, led by Mohammad Rizwan, will aim to put up a competitive total as they seek their first win in the tournament.
