Minister allows online classes on Fridays in Punjab schools, colleges

Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has given permission to hold online classes on Friday in educational institutions, schools, colleges and universities across Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

In his statement, Rana Sikandar Hayat said that the aim of this move is to continue educational activities in the current circumstances, while the cooperation and patience of students, teachers and parents have been appreciated.

According to a notification issued by the Punjab Education Department yesterday, schools will remain closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and thus teaching will be 4 days a week.

According to the notification, the Friday holiday will apply to both government and private schools. Schools will remain open from 8 am to 1:30 pm from Monday to Thursday.

The notification states that double-shift schools will complete one shift from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm while second-shift schools will open from 1 pm to 5:30 pm.
