Pakistan reports lowest number of virus cases, deaths since April
Pakistan reported only 553 new coronavirus cases, its lowest since the first week of April, during the past 24 hours (Saturday).
It means the overall number of the coronavirus cases now stands at 279, 693, shows the latest figures released by National Command and Operation Centre on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile, the same period saw only 6 more people dying after being infected, the lowest single day toll since April, raising the death toll to 5,976.
As far as the active cases are concerned, there are currently 25,641 people are still carrying the coronavirus infection with most of them in self-isolation at home and the rest in hospitals for treatment.
On the other hand, the official data shows 248,577 people have so far fully recovered from the virus.
During the past 24 hours, another 14000 citizens were administered with the coronavirus tests.
Sindh tops the list with 121,309 coronavirus virus cases, making it the most affected province in the country. The figures for other provinces/regions are: Punjab 93,173, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 34,160, Islamabad 15,052, Balochistan 11,762, Gilgit-Baltistan 2,157 and Azad Kashmir 2,086.
