Following the unanimous decision of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on prohibited foreign funding to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Awami Muslim League (AML) head Sheikh Rashid said in a video message, “It has been proved that it was not foreign funding. Today is a day of victory for Imran Khan and PTI, and a day of defeat for the government and the PDM,” reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“Much ado about nothing! The nation’s time was wasted for eight years. It has been proved today that this was not foreign funding. These were the funds from overseas Pakistanis. We have approached the Supreme Court (SC) for voting rights for overseas Pakistanis,” he said in a video message on social networking site Twitter.

“The false propaganda, the media war which had been underway against Imran Khan and the PTI for eight years has met its death. Imran Khan is a famous and strong leader. This is not the time that a political party can be banned, as it was at the time of ANP,” he stated.

“I have a firm belief that the Supreme Court, high court or wherever this case is taken to, it will be declared bogus on the very first day. I believe that the political reputation of the 14 political parties [of PDM] has reduced to ashes due to their political blunders. They could not defeat Imran Khan in public. They have no idea how deep Imran Khan has penetrated the hearts of the people,” he remarked.

“I declare this day a day of victory for Imran Khan and the PTI and a day of defeat for the government and the PDM. Let them cry and hurl shouts; they are destined to fail. It is a time of trial for the nation and the country. We should immediately for general elections with the votes of the overseas Pakistanis,” he concluded.
