Food Security Ministry gives 2 lakh tonnes sugar import order

In order to curb price hike, Food Security Ministry has given 2 lakh tonnes sugar import order and after opening of tender, next phase has started, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. 

The first shipment of imported sugar will arrive in Pakistan in early September 2025. The import aims to ensure the availability of sugar in the market and maintain price balance.

The concerned committee formed by the government also successfully secured discounts at the time of purchase in the international market. The arrival of imported sugar will maintain price balance in the local market and will directly benefit consumers.
