Sixth spell of monsoon rain likely to start from August 4

The sixth spell of monsoon rain is likely to start from next week in upper areas of Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and central Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to the Meteorological Department, next spell of the monsoon will continue between 4th to 7th of August. From August 5, the western wind will intensity the rain. The heavy rain is expected along with strong wind and lightning will lash various areas of Kashmir including Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sidhnoti, Kotli, Bhimbar and Mirpur. 

Likewise, Gilgit-Baltistan’s Diamer, Astor, Ghazhar, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ganche and Shagar with chances of flash flooding and landslides during 5 to 7 August. 

In the same period, various districts of KP, including, Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bannu, Lucky Marwat, DI Khan and Tank will also face heavy rain with strong winds.

In the central regions and in the same time, there will be heavy rain with strong winds, the cities including, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Narowal, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Chakwal, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Kasur, Chiniot, DG Khan, Layyah, Multan and Bahawalpur.

In Balochistan north-eastern districts, including Barkhan, Musa Khel, Loralai, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah and Khuzdar, are likely to face heavy rain and thunder on August 6. In many parts of Sindh, the forecast will remain cloudy, and there is a chance of light rain or drizzle in coastal areas.
