Ahsan Iqbal and Danial Aziz tussling over PP-54 ticket
Former federal minister Ahsan Iqbal wanted his son Ahmad Iqbal to contest the upcoming general election for PP-54 – Daniyal Aziz's constituency – causing a tussle.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, contrary to Ahsan Iqbal’s wish, Daniyal Aziz wanted Awais Qasim to contest the election from his constituency.
Ahmed Iqbal has played the role of District Council Chairman whereas Awais Qasim made his way into the provincial assembly after winning the election in 2008 and 2013. He already has 18000 to 20000 voters in his constituency.
In 2018, Awais Qasim left PML-N and lost to Punjab Auqaf Minister Pir Saeed-ul-Hassan contesting the election on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s ticket.
Daniyal Aziz said that he will also contest as an Independent candidate if Awais Qasim is not given the ticket.
Ahsan Iqbal is soon expected to reply to Daniyal Aziz in a presser. He said that the opportunists and the people who left the party were not welcome in the party.
