Max penalty Rs20,000 as new traffic fines come into effect in Punjab

New traffic fines have come into effect after amendments to Motor Vehicle Ordinance in Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
According to the new law, the minimum fine for a motorcycle will be Rs2,000 while the minimum fine for a rickshaw will be Rs3,000 for violating traffic rules.
The minimum fine for a car and a jeep for violating traffic rules will be Rs5,000 while the minimum fine for public transport, tractor trolley and commercial vehicles will be Rs10,000 to Rs20,000.
