Pakistan’s trade deficit shrinks by 12pc in November 2025

Pakistan’s trade deficit declined by 12 percent in November 2025 on a monthly basis but increased by 33 percent yearly, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to statistics released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the trade deficit in November 2025 was $2.855 billion.

As per the report, the trade deficit in October 2025 was $3.239 billion, while the trade deficit in November 2024 was $2.15 billion.

The PBS report stated that exports on November 2025 fell by 16 percent monthly and 15 percent annually. Pakistan’s exports in November 25 were $2.398 billion.

The report revealed that the country’s import bills in November 25 decreased by 14% monthly while increasing by 5% annually. The import bill in November 2025 was $5.253 billion.

The trade deficit increased to $15.469 billion in the first five months of the current fiscal year. The trade deficit in the first five months of the last fiscal year was $11.277 billion.

The main reason for the decline in revenues is a 35% drop in food exports. Rice exports have also been affected by a 46 percent decline.
