Kashmala Tariq’s son booked after horrific accident in Islamabad
At least four friends were crushed to death by a speeding Land Cruiser owned by the husband of Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women at Workplace Kashmala Tariq at the Srinagar Highway in Islamabad on Monday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
Police, however, have not yet arrested Kashmala’s son Azlan. According to sources, they have arrested Waqas Khan’s driver.
The out-of-control Land Cruiser, WX-077, first hit a Mehran car and then a motorcycle. Four occupants of the car got seriously injured and later succumbed to their wounds in the hospital.
All the dead belonged to Mansehra. Two other injured were under treatment at the hospital.
One of the victims came to Islamabad from Mansehra for taking the ANF test.
Superintendent Police (SP) Sarfraz Virk told media that the owner of Best Western Hotel, Waqas, was also present in the car along with his wife Kashmala Tariq’s son Azlan Khan that hit the people on the highway.

Police told the media that Waqas received wounds on his face following the accident and reportedly went to a hospital. Police added that a search is underway to arrest him for investigation, whereas, the suspected vehicle was already taken into custody.
Rescue sources said that the deceased were identified as Anis, Amir Shakeel, Farooq and Haider Ali. Traffic Police told media that CCTV footages were being collected to ascertain the details about the vehicle.
An eyewitness said that a young man was driving the speeding vehicle.
The dead and injured were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital.
