Public warned against fake ‘Ramazan Relief Package 2026’ links circulating on social media

The government has urged the public to remain vigilant against fraudulent messages and links circulating on social media under the name of the “Ramazan Relief Package 2026,” warning that such claims are often used for scams and data theft, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday. 

Officials stated that the government does not distribute cash assistance or ration support through unofficial or private websites.

Messages promising “instant payment of 10,000 rupees” or claiming that “applications have opened” are typically deceptive and aimed at extracting personal information, they added.

Authorities stressed that authentic government relief programmes are always launched through designated state institutions, including the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), the Ehsaas Programme or provincial-level socio-economic registries.

Application procedures for such schemes are clearly communicated, either via official SMS channels or verified government websites ending in “.gov.pk”.

The public has been advised not to enter national identity card numbers, mobile phone details or other personal data on unverified links.

 For confirmation regarding any relief initiative, citizens should rely solely on official government sources, relevant ministries or verified government social media accounts.
