Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday changed its political strategy against the ruling coalition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Quaid League in the Punjab Assembly (PA).

According to the 24News HD TV channel, changing the strategy in the House, the PML-N has decided to focus on the change of the post of the Chief Minister of the Province of Punjab only.

As per the report of the channel, the PML-N has withdrawn its two No-Confidence Motions against the Punjab Assembly Speaker Sabtain Khan and Deputy Speaker Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi submitted in the assembly secretariat in Lahore.

The party sources said that the PML-N leadership has focused on the Vote of Confidence against Chief Minister of Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi instead of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

On Monday, in an important development regarding the vote of confidence to the Punjab chief minister, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) has decided not to vote for Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

According to the party sources, the MWM Political Council has taken the decision after consultation.

The MWM spokesperson said that serious reservations had been expressed on some of the steps taken by the Punjab chief minister.

“MWM Member of Punjab Assembly Syeda Zahra Naqvi will not give the vote of confidence to Pervaiz Elahi,” he said.

“The decision of not giving the vote of confidence to the Chief Minister of Punjab has been taken in the light of the instructions of the party leadership,” he added.
