Administrative shake-up at Bahawal Victoria Hospital

Medical Superintendent of Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Dr. Syed Fakhar Abbas Shah, has been removed from his post, while Dr Abdul Rehman, Chief Consultant Pediatrics at Mayo Hospital Lahore, has been appointed as the new Medical Superintendent.

A formal notification has been issued by the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department in this regard on Friday.

According to the notification, Dr. Syed Fakhar Abbas Shah was appointed as Medical Superintendent of Bahawal Victoria Hospital on August 22, 2025.

Following his removal, he has been directed to report to the Specialized Healthcare Department.

Meanwhile, former Medical Superintendent of Bahawal Victoria Hospital, Dr Aamir Mahmood Bukhari, has been appointed as Medical Superintendent of Sheikh Zayed Hospital, Rahim Yar Khan.

Health department officials stated that these transfers and postings have been carried out in the interest of administrative efficiency and improved healthcare management.
