Pakistan U-19 reach tri-nation ODI series final after crushing Afghanistan

Pakistan U-19 stormed into the final of the tri-nation Under-19 ODI series after defeating Afghanistan U-19 by a massive 133-run margin, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.

The win was powered by Samir Minhas’ half-century and Umar Zaib’s five-wicket haul, underlining Pakistan’s all-round strength.

Having won the toss, Pakistan elected to bat first and posted 238 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs.

Samir Minhas top-scored with 56 runs, including six boundaries and a six.

Contributions from Usman Khan (43) and Ali Hasan Baloch (39) helped the team recover after losing two quick wickets at 166, though the final seven wickets added only 63 runs.

In response, Afghanistan’s batting lineup struggled, eventually being bowled out for 105 in 30.2 overs.

Their captain, Mahboob Khan, was the top scorer with 29 runs.

Pakistan’s fast bowler Umar Zaib shone with figures of 7.3 overs, 31 runs, and five wickets, while Momin Qamar and Ahmed Hussain picked up two wickets each.

Afghanistan’s only notable bowling efforts came from Salman Khan Ahmedzai and Zaitullah Shaheen, who claimed two wickets apiece.

With this emphatic victory, Pakistan U-19 secured qualification for the tournament final, where they will face Zimbabwe U-19 on January 6.

Prior to the final, Pakistan will play their last league match against Zimbabwe U-19 on Sunday.
