Lahore High Court (LHC) Review Board on Friday set aside government reference, seeking extension in detention of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Chief Saad Rizvi, reported 24News HD TV channel.
The review board, comprised of Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan, Justice Alia Neelum and justice Sadaqat Ali Khan, also set aside the government reference seeking extension in detention of Usman and Wazir Ali, companions of Saad Rizvi.
Hundreds of policemen had been deployed at the LHC and the area had been cordoned off pending a verdict on the appeal by the LHC.
Saad Rizvi is the son of the previous head of the TLP, Khadim Hussain Rizvi, who died in November last year.
His arrest came a day after TLP's central council warned the government that if it did not expel the French ambassador from the country, they would march towards Islamabad.
The banned outfit called off its violent protests after the federal government tabled a resolution in parliament to debate the French ambassador's expulsion.
