Cotton and rice crops were badly damaged after several acres of land was inundated following development of a 50-feet wide breach in a canal near a suburban village of Pakpattan, 55 SP, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

Farmers, on the other hand, have complained that none reached to rescue them despite the fact that they repeatedly approached the concerned department.

Resultantly, they said, they were left with no other option but to try to plug the breach on their own, but without any success.
