Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell to miss Mel B’s wedding
Mel B’s highly anticipated wedding this Saturday at London’s iconic St Paul’s Cathedral will be missing two familiar faces, fellow Spice Girls Victoria Beckham and Geri Halliwell.
MailOnline can exclusively reveal that both Posh Spice and Ginger Spice are absent from the guest list for what promises to be a lavish, celebrity-filled celebration as Mel ties the knot with fiancé Rory McPhee.
Sources close to the Spice Girls say Victoria, 51, will be out of the country due to prior commitments.
“Victoria has longstanding plans abroad and unfortunately can’t make it,” an insider revealed. “She and Mel get along well – there’s no bad blood at all. It’s just a case of timing.”
Meanwhile, Geri Halliwell’s absence stems from lingering tension with the bride-to-be. The two have had a strained relationship since Mel B publicly claimed they had an intimate encounter during the Spice Girls’ early days – a revelation that aired on Piers Morgan's Life Stories in 2019. Geri was said to be ‘deeply upset’ by the disclosure, and Mel never issued an apology. Her husband, Christian Horner, was also reportedly ‘mortified’ by the comments.
Neither Victoria nor Geri attended Mel’s 50th birthday bash in Leeds this past May, further fueling speculation about internal rifts. Only Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm were present at that event and even now, there are whispers that one of them may also be skipping the wedding.
This marks the third time Mel B, 49, will walk down the aisle. She previously married Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar in 1998 and later tied the knot with producer Stephen Belafonte in 2007. That marriage ended in 2016 amid allegations of abuse, which Belafonte has consistently denied.
Mel's relationship with Rory, a hairdresser and longtime family friend, blossomed after her turbulent split. The couple got engaged in 2022, and Mel credits Rory for helping her regain trust and heal emotionally.
Thanks to her OBE, awarded for her work with vulnerable women and charitable causes, Mel was granted permission to marry at the prestigious St Paul’s Cathedral.
Ahead of the big day, the Spice Girl celebrated with a glamorous hen party in Tunisia, 0 featuring leopard-print bikinis, belly dancing, a beachside Zen party, and plenty of fun with her daughter Phoenix and 35 friends.
