Punjab govt bans use of low-quality fuel

The Punjab government imposed complete ban on using low-quality fuel across the province with immediate effect, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Director-General Environment Imran Hamid Sheikh already issued a notification in this regard.

The notification stated that strict action will be taken against all those vehicles using low-quality fuel.

The notification said that no petrol pump will be allowed to sale or purchase fuel sans approval of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Entry of vehicles using low-quality fuel will be banned on roads. DG Imran Hamid Sheikh said that a checking process of petrol pumps has already started.

He said that low-quality fuel is the main cause for pollution which is harmful for human health.
