Fifth suspected mpox patient admitted to Nishtar Hospital

A fifth suspected mpox patient has been admitted to the isolation ward at Nishtar Hospital, raising the number of patients under treatment at the facility to five, hospital officials said on Tuesday.

According to officials, four patients have already tested positive for mpox and are receiving treatment at the hospital's isolation ward.

The newly admitted patient is suspected of carrying the virus and has been placed in isolation pending further medical evaluation and test results.

Hospital officials said the confirmed patients include residents of Multan, Muzaffargarh and Vehari districts.

Officials added that special attention is being given to the treatment and monitoring of mpox patients to prevent the spread of the disease and ensure proper medical care.

The patients remain under observation, while health authorities continue surveillance and precautionary measures in the region.
