Indian Punjabi film “Dastar” set for release in Pakistani cinemas on July 17

Indian Punjabi film “Dastar” is set to be released in cinemas across Pakistan on July 17, subject to censor approval, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday.

The film will be screened under Pakistan’s import policy for foreign films once it clears regulatory requirements.

Dastar features Punjabi actor Tarsem Jassar in the lead role alongside Geet Goraya, and is directed by Amar Hundal.

The project is produced by White Hill Studios, while distribution rights in Pakistan have been secured by Wali Films Distribution Company.

The film is an action drama built around themes of courage, sacrifice, faith and identity, and is expected to attract Punjabi cinema audiences across the region.

According to distributors, the movie will be shown in Pakistani cinemas once it obtains clearance from the censor authorities.

The release forms part of ongoing arrangements that allow selected foreign films to be exhibited in Pakistan under approved import and screening policies.
