PDMA issues rain alert for Punjab till June 5

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a rain alert for Punjab from June 2 to 5, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

A spokesman of PDMA said different areas of Punjab will receive rain accompanied by strong winds and hailstorms.

The areas include Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Bhakkar, Layyah, Faisalabad, Jhang, Okara, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, and Faisalabad and Jhang will also receive rain.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority Director-General Umar Javed said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed all commissioners and deputy commissioners to remain alert during the rainy season.

 The PDMA DG advised citizens to avoid going under the open sky during lightning. He also advised farmers to adopt precautionary measures.

The DG also advised tourists to take protective measures before the start of their journey to the Northern Areas. In case of any emergency, they should contact Helpline 1129.
