Six children including five girls lost their lives when the roof of their house collapsed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa mountainous district of Shangla late Monday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The incident took place in the tehsil of Alpuri in Shangla. Soon after receiving the report, a police team and residents of the area rushed to the spot and shifted the dead bodies to a hospital.

A little girl was also injured in the incident, who was referred to hospital for treatment.

The deceased children were identified as Nazira, Sameera, Rizwan, Nayab, Haya Noor and Umera, all aged between five and 14 years.

The police informed the media men that the deceased children’s father had died some time back and they did not have a cemented house.

Earlier in November 2025, a roof collapsed during the funeral prayer of a man who had died in a jeep accident, leaving several people injured at Lari Peer Khana in Shangla.

As the Imam concluded the prayers, the roof of the house suddenly caved in, injuring several mourners.
