Blast in Thar Coal Power Plant, fire erupts in Block-II, 5 workers hurt

After a heavy explosion in the Thar Coal Power Plant located in Tharparkar district, Sindh, a fire has erupted in the Block-II area on Wednesday night.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the coal shifting conveyor belt in the plant exploded with a loud noise up to a one-kilometre district.
The report said the explosion was occurred by a reason of a technical fault and there was a fear of loss of lives and property.
The administration has shut down the power plant immediately and rescue teams are reached at the spot.
Thar Block II power plant is a coal-fired power station located in the Tharparkar district, Sindh, Pakistan.
Engro Corporation has confirmed the accident and said in a statement that five workers were hurt by the explosion incident.
The corporation said medical assistance was immediately provided to injured workers and their condition is stable.
