Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Tariq Bashir Cheema has said Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit has nothing to do with a no-confidence motion.
The PM visited the party leadership to enquire after ex-premier Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and wished him good health, Tariq said during a 24Newshd TV channel programme - Gong.
Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has been empowered to hold discussions and make decision about the matter.
“I want to make it clear that the parliamentary party meeting mandated Ch Parvez to make the final decision and he has not decided so far,” he stressed.
No-trust motion did not come under discussion, the federal minister said, adding that Parvez Elahi said the meetings were matters of tradition and norms when PM asked about the opposition leaders’ visit.
In response to reports of PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif’s invitation to the PML-Q leadership to a dinner, Tariq said he was oblivious of it. He said the party would respond in a positive manner if it receives such an invitation.
In reply to a question about party ‘tilt’, he said Parvez Elahi can respond to this.
