Half-litre coke to cost Rs80 now as prices spiral

Rates of daily-use items surge once again: Cold drinks, bleach, Dettol, dry milk, juices, coffee made dearer: Subsidized ghee prices hiked at Utility Stores by Rs115/kg

Prices of commodities have surged again in Lahore with multinational companies enhancing rates of their products, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

Prices of cold drinks have surged from Rs5 to Rs10. Regular cold drink will be available at the rate of Rs45 instead of Rs38, half-litre soft drink will be sold at Rs80, one and half litre drink will be available at Rs160 while 1.5 litre mineral water bottle will be sold after an increase of Rs15 at Rs90.

Neel (used for white clothes), after an increase of Rs410, will now be available at Rs875.

Bleach prices have risen to Rs975 with an increase of Rs195. Show polishes and shiners have also witnessed a surge of Rs20-70. Toilet cleaner having 1000 ml quantity will now be available in the market at Rs975. 

One litre Dettol pack, after an increase of Rs223, will sell at Rs1175, three litre Dettol pack will sell at Rs2,499. Insecticide prices have gone up by Rs25-100. Rs50 juice pack will be selling now at Rs60.  A good quality one litre juice pack price has surged by Rs50. Milo will sell at Rs70 instead of Rs60. Dry milk for kids (900 gram) will sell at Rs 1,470 after an increase of Rs100.

Branded coffee, having quantity 100 grams, will be sold at Rs2,200 after an increase of Rs800,  50 grams coffee will be selling at Rs1,450 after Rs550 surge. Formula milk prices for kids have gone up by Rs130 to Rs630. Dry Milk (tea whitener) will sell at Rs1,450 after an increase of Rs100.  

Meanwhile, prices of subsidized Ghee, under the Prime Minister’s Package, have been jacked up at Utility Stores from Rs375 to Rs490 per 1 kilogram. 

This is the second increase in prices in two months. The per kilograme increase in ghee will be Rs115. 

Earlier, the per kg ghee prices were increased by Rs75 in January. In two months, the ghee has witnessed a total surge of Rs190/Kg. 

However, the deserving people getting benefit under the BISP, will be exempted from this increase. They will be getting ghee from utility stores at Rs300/Kg.
