Heera Pehlwan wins historic 'Rustam Chah Miran' wrestling title in Lahore
The historic Rustam Chah Miran wrestling title was clinched by Heera Pehlwan after a thrilling contest against Mustafa Pehlwan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The tournament was arranged under the leadership of Lahore Wrestling Association President, Mehr Akram, also known as Kala Pehlwan in Lahore, on Sunday.
The championship, one of the city's oldest and most prestigious wrestling titles, saw intense battles between top wrestlers.
The grand event featured a total of 20 wrestling bouts, including three major title matches.
Among the key contests, Shehzad Pehlwan defeated Bilali Pehlwan to claim the Champion Chah Miran title, while Naeem Pehlwan overpowered Bilal Pehlwan in another closely fought match.
The competitions were held under the directives of Punjab Wrestling President Arshad Sattar, with supervision by Kala Pehlwan, who also served as the chief judge for the major title bouts.
As a gesture of encouragement, he awarded the winning wrestlers with cash prizes and traditional gurz (maces).
Prominent figures in the wrestling community contributed to the event’s success, including Punjab Desi Kushti Chairman Lala Shahid, national coach Fareed Ali, and legendary wrestlers Basheer Bhola Bhala and Shahid Khoye Wala.
Additionally, Shahbaz Butt, Baba Pehlwan, Baba Bhola, Arif Pachar, Mama Pehlwan, and Sona Chandi assisted in organizing the event.
Among those supporting the competition were Mehr Waqas Pehlwan, Mehr Shehzad Pehlwan, Kaashi Pehlwan, Ali Pehlwan, and Haji Mithu Khalifa, ensuring a smooth and traditional execution of the grand wrestling spectacle.
