Two killed, five injured in gas leakage blast in Quetta
Two persons, including a girl, were dead while five other persons received critical injuries when a blast occurred due to gas pipeline leakage in the Pashtunabad area of Quetta, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported on Sunday.
Heirs of the victims said that the blast occurred due to gas load-shedding at about 3 am on the night of March 2, 2025.
Soon after receiving the report of the incident, local police reached the area and shifted the dead bodies and injured persons to the civil hospital.
Later, police officials, after completing all legal proceedings, handed over dead bodies of victims to their respective heirs for burial.
Police said that some children were also injured in this incident.
Earlier on February 4, 2025, at least seven people were injured in a gas leak-triggered blast in a private hospital in Balochistan’s Pishin district.
According to police officials, the blast caused by a gas cylinder leak damaged the Darman Hospital building, leaving two injured in critical condition.
The teams of rescuers and the law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene soon after the explosion to carry out rescue operations and gather evidence.
The injured individuals are currently under treatment at the hospital. The police and other law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the gas cylinder leak explosion.
