Balochistan university teachers, staff continue protest against salaries non-payment

May 2, 2023 03:56 PM

Employees and teaching staff of Balochistan University (UoB) took to Quetta’s Saryab Road on Tuesday and staged a protest against the non-payment of their salaries for the last three months, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The protest turned into a demonstration and the participants raised slogans against the provincial government.

They told the media that the government has not budged an inch despite the boycott of classes and a month-long closure of transport and administration.

They made it quite clear that the boycott will continue until the end of the financial crisis and the payment of salaries.

It merits here to mention that Balochistan University is currently suffering from severe financial and mismanagement. Consequently, teaching and non-teaching staff of UoB have been deprived of their salaries for last three months. Although they have been protesting since then, their protest yielded no results.
