Punjab govt to build transport tower in Lahore

Punjab government has decided to build transport tower in Lahore city and in this regard Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered preparation of feasibility study, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan has been assigned task of construction of transport tower.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the transport department has started working for construction of transport tower.

Transport Minister Bilal Akbar Khan said that location and design of construction of transport tower not finalized yet.

The transport department will complete work on design and location of transport tower, Bilal Akbar Khan said.

As soon as the work is completed, the plan of transport tower will be presented to the Punjab Chief Minister, Provincial Minister further said.

He said the transport department Punjab and sub-departments will have a single secretariat in the transport tower.

The offices of Regional Transport, Mass Transit Authority, Punjab Transport Company and Railway Transportation System will be in the same place, Bilal Akbar Khan said.

He said the command and control center at the provincial level will also be in the transport tower.
