Senate Chairman lauds services of Rotary club
Rotary Club organized a ceremony at a local hotel in Karachi which was attended by Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, Sindh Governor Kamran Tesori, KP Governor Faisal Kundi and Farooq Sattar, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel.
Oman's Consul General Sami Abdullah Al-Khanjari, Deputy Consul General of Germany Andreas Wagner and honorary Consul of Yemen Mirza Ikhtiar Baig also participated the meeting.
Addressing the moot, Senate Chairman said he was happy to attend Rotary event as it was serving in 200 countries. He said Rotary was providing great services in polio.
Gilani said Rotary is also working to make Pakistan polio-free. It is working for solar energy, health and youth empowerment. He said Rotary is also working in collaboration with Ziauddin for heart disease. He said the work that Rotary has done to empower women in villages during his tenure as Prime Minister was commendable.
Yousuf Gilani advised Rotary to work for peace too as Islam also teaches peace and brotherhood.
Talking about Pak-Indian tension, Senate Chairman said India wanted to divert the world's attention from the real reality.
Gilani said India cannot hide the Kashmir issue from the world. Senate chairman said India should first investigate the Pahalgam attack and avoid making accusations before investigation.
