Sadeqain Art Exhibition opens in Canada, celebrating Pakistan’s artistic legacy

A vibrant celebration of Pakistan’s rich artistic heritage began in Canada as a three-day Sadeqain Art Exhibition was inaugurated in Mississauga, according to the spokesperson of the Pakistani Embassy in Canada.

The exhibition was formally opened by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Canada, Muhammad Saleem Khan, marking a significant cultural event aimed at highlighting the enduring legacy of renowned artist Syed Sadeqain Ahmed Naqvi (1930–1987).

Described as one of Pakistan’s most distinguished artistic visionaries in the field of fine arts, Sadeqain’s work continues to inspire generations through its depth, creativity and spiritual expression. The exhibition seeks to honour his contributions and introduce his remarkable body of work to a wider international audience.

The event has been organised by the Sadeqain Foundation in collaboration with local and media partners. It is expected to draw a diverse audience, including art and calligraphy experts, enthusiasts, members of the media, civil society representatives, and students from institutions such as the Aga Khan Foundation Academy Toronto.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore Sadeqain’s extraordinary artistic expression through a wide range of mediums, including Islamic calligraphy, paintings, drawings, wall carvings and Urdu poetry.

The exhibition reflects Pakistan’s commitment to promoting its cultural heritage abroad and fostering artistic exchange with global communities.
