DPM Ishaq Dar to visit Türkiye for Gaza Peace Conference

Foreign ministers from eight major Muslim countries, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia, to attend conference

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will leave for Türkiye on Monday to attend a high-level Gaza Diplomatic Peace Conference, the Foreign Office confirmed on Sunday.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the visit comes at the invitation of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who will host the meeting aimed at mobilising diplomatic efforts for peace in Gaza amid ongoing Israeli aggression.

The foreign ministers of eight key Muslim countries will take part in the summit, including representatives from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Indonesia, and Jordan, alongside Pakistan and Türkiye.

During the meeting, Dar will reiterate Pakistan’s firm and unwavering support for the people of Gaza and call for an immediate cessation of Israeli hostilities. He is also expected to strongly condemn Israel’s renewed military operations in the besieged enclave.

Diplomatic sources said that on the sidelines of the summit, the Deputy Prime Minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with global leaders and senior diplomats to discuss regional peace and humanitarian coordination for Gaza.

The Gaza Diplomatic Peace Conference is part of a broader effort by Muslim-majority nations to forge a unified stance on the escalating crisis in Palestine and to push for an end to Israel’s blockade and airstrikes in Gaza.
