Passenger bound for Dubai caught with 823 grams of hashish in his shoes

Security forces foiled two separate attempts to smuggle narcotics from Peshawar and Multan to the United Arab Emirates, authorities said on Sunday.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the Airport Security Force (ASF) carried out successful operations at both airports. 

At Peshawar Airport, ASF officials recovered 823 grams of hashish that had been hidden inside a passenger’s shoes.

In a separate incident at Multan Airport, ASF personnel seized 926 grams of crystal meth (commonly known as ice) that had been concealed in a passenger’s luggage. 

Both suspects were scheduled to travel to Dubai and Sharjah, respectively.

ASF officials said the timely action was made possible by the force’s professional vigilance and efficient screening procedures, preventing the drugs from being smuggled abroad.

The arrested suspects and the seized narcotics have been handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further legal proceedings and investigation.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to combating drug trafficking through Pakistan’s airports, emphasising that enhanced surveillance and coordination among law enforcement agencies continue to yield results.
