The protesting farmer have expressed their resolve to march towards Bani Gala to register their protest against the provincial government, 24 NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday
They announced they will move to the Bani Gala tomorrow to mount pressure on the provincial government to address their concerns.
The Punjab government deprived the farmers of their rights, said Kisan Ittihad rep. He alleged Parvez Elahi tried hard to stop him and the rate of wheat in Sindh is 4,000 while in Punjab it is 3,000
Negotiations with the federal government are expected to be completed tomorrow and as soon as the negotiations are completed, all the farmers will march to Bani Gala, Khalid Hussain said
A couple of days ago, the protesting farmers threatened to march to D Chowk if the government does not accept their demands.
The deadlock between the protesting farmers and the federal government persist for the past five days.
Thousands of farmers from across the country took the federal capital against the rising cost of electricity and fertilisers.
Officials said the farmers came from across Punjab province and were demanding restoration of the previous tube-well electricity tariff of Rs 5.3 per unit and abolishing all taxes and adjustments.
They are also seeking an end to the black marketing of fertilizers and a reduction of the urea rate which has risen to 400 per cent. They also demanded increased prices of wheat and sugarcane.
Talks were held between the government led by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and the farmers’ leaders but to no avail.
The farmer asked the government to defer the bills and revise the power tariff. They also demanded a reduction in electricity bills.
