Balochistan govt, Harley Healthcare ink MoU to ensure quality medical education in province
The government of Balochistan on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Harley Healthcare Group for the promotion of quality medical education in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per the MoU, the province’s first medical, dental and nursing college will be built under the public-private partnership.
As many as 100 students will be imparted education in medical, dental, nursing and allied sciences every year, while 16 outstanding students will be awarded scholarships annually.
Expressing excitement over the signing of the agreement, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said that the college would prepare doctors and nurses for the future. “Now the students of Balochistan will be able to receive medical education of international standards in their own province,” he added.
He expressed the hope that now the students, belonging to the far-flung areas of the province, will also benefit from that project. “The agreement inked today is a major step toward strengthening the healthcare system in the province,” the CM said, adding, “Reforms in the health and education sectors are a topmost priority for the provincial government.”
