FIA foils passport smuggling bid at Torkham border

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Tuesday carried out a successful operation at the Torkham border, recovering 25 passports from an Afghan citizen, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, the suspect had concealed the passports inside cold drink cans in an attempt to smuggle them across the border. FIA officials revealed that Tajikistan visas had also been affixed to the recovered passports.

The arrested suspect was immediately taken into custody and shifted to the FIA headquarters in Peshawar for further investigation. Officials said inquiries are underway to trace possible links of the accused with organized smuggling networks.
