Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Umar Ata Bandial Sunday took suo motu notice of the situation arising out of political mayhem in Islamabad following rejected of the no-confidence motion against the prime minister and the dissolution of the National Assembly on Imran Khan's advice, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

An apex court spokesman said that the CJP has taken suo motu notice of the situation, details of which will be released later.

Earlier, the chief justice summoned senior judges to his residence at Judges Colony for consultation in the wake of the annulment of the no-confidence motion. Later, the country’s top judge arrived at the Supreme Court, reported 24NewsHD TV channel, quoting its sources.

It was learnt that SC Justice Qazi Faez Isa appealed to Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial to take suo motu notice in the current worsening political situation in the country.

Similarly, SC Bar Association President Ahsan Bhoon said that the bar association would file a petition against the cancellation of the no-confidence motion.

The chief justice had reached the apex court. Members of the apex court staff also rushed to the SC building the gates of which have been closed public and lawyers.
