Newly appointed Punjab Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema Sunday evening took the oath of his office, 24News HD TV Channel reported.
The oath-taking ceremony of the new governor was held at the Governor House. Punjab’s Caretaker Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was also present there.
 Earlier in the day, President terminated Chaudhry Sarwar as Punjab Governor and appointed Omar Cheema for the post.
