Should it call a U-turn, change of heart or deteriorating economy that the government is thinking to rent out Prime Minister House for commercial purposes including fashion shows in clear departure of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s prior resolve to establish a university in the PM House, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The federal cabinet is expected to give final approval in this regard today. 

Reportedly, the Federal Ministry for Housing has come up with the idea of renting out PM House for earning money like fashion shows and cultural activities to generate revenue.

The ministry has suggested that the PM House auditorium, two guest wings, and lawns could be rented out for different local and international events like fashion shows, food festivals, cultural celebrations, exhibitions of vintage cars, diplomatic events, corporate sector programs, and seminars.

According to sources, the high-level diplomatic functions and seminars will also be arranged in the PM House. 

It was also suggested to constitute two special committees to maintain security and discipline during the commercial activities in the PM’s House.
