August 3, 2022 10:49 PM

Fifty per cent of the wireless system for internal communication of Lahore police has collapsed, reported 24News HD TV Channel on Wednesday.
As per the report, Lahore police was provided with a new communication system four years ago which was introduced by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority against the old wireless system.
In the new system, a total of 8,000 Long-Term Evolution-Android (LTE-A) handsets were handed over to the policemen, out of which 3600 modern sets required upgradation and 700 needed repairs now.
Modern LTE-A handsets of communication have been equipped with other facilities including listening to calls, video calls, making videos, data, and checking records and these are run through internet service, for which towers have been installed across the city by Safe Cities.
