Gun battle at Kurram coal mine leaves two dead, one injured

A violent confrontation between rival groups at a coal mine in Kurram district turned deadly on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and injuring one, 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

According to the local police, the clash took place during a dispute near a mining site, where both sides exchanged heavy gunfire. 

A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged, and police say an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.

The Kurram region in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has previously seen numerous coal mine-related tragedies, including fatal explosions and landmine incidents. 

In one past incident in Ali Sherzai, four workers were killed — three of them from the same family. 

Another attack involving a landmine killed four and injured several others in a forested area, adding to the area's growing security concerns.
